Rendezvou with Reading

The new-look library newsletter will be relaunched under Books & the City. Different from the past newsletters that merely reported library services and event contents, a large number of materials relating to ‘reading’ - like authors’ book remarks and columns, further reading, in-depth reports and information about publication trends, etc. - will be added in the new version.
“Safeguarding Library” is the special topic planned for the first issue of this newsletter. The library is a repository of knowledge consisting of diverse views, various mediums, different generations as well as knowledge and stories from innumerable fields. Nevertheless, every person’s capture of information and views differ here; via individual reading, feeling, interpretation, digestion, assimilation, accumulation and inspiration, we understand others’ world views while establishing our own identities.
Knowledge becomes significant only through sharing, inheritance and recurrent transmission. We hope that by reading we improve, and that human conscience and knowledge will promote the beauty and well-being of the world.
